HER STORY ⟡ Brianna, Founder of HydraGlow Nashville!
Hey ladies!
My name is Brianna, I'm a Registered Nurse, and I live about 45 minutes south of Nashville with my fiancé, 3 dogs, and 4 ducks!
Originally from southeastern Pennsylvania, I quickly fell in love with Nashville and Tennessee in general after my first trip. I was at a turning point in my life at 28, when I finally decided to take the leap and move down here. It was the scariest and best decision I ever made.
As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse, my first job after moving to Nashville was at an IV hydration clinic, and that's where I fell in love with the art of wellness. I loved seeing clients on all different occasions, whether it was after a night on Broadway, before their wedding, after a long vacation, or even when they were feeling under the weather. I also loved seeing the magic Nashville brought to its visitors and hearing the first-timers ' stories of their weekend adventures.
Most importantly, I loved seeing the stark difference in how clients felt when first coming in versus after their treatment. The wellness space has allowed me to pursue both passions: medical expertise and building strong relationships with my clients.
Why I started?
I like to joke that from an early age, my family knew I would be the boss of something because of how strong-willed I was. I fell in love with the idea of being an entrepreneur while helping my dad run his motorcycle dealership. I worked my way up from receptionist to General Manager in the 5 years that I worked for him, before I became a nurse. HydraGlow was born from taking the best lessons from two very different chapters of my life, nursing and working at the motorcycle dealership, and turning them into something uniquely mine.
What I love about being a business owner-
My favorite part will always be the personal connections I make with my clients and brightening their day when I can help them feel better or prep for an upcoming life event. I also have a vast imagination and big ideas for the business and how it could grow and scale. Watching those ideas come to life is priceless.
What type of impact...?
I hope the impact of HydraGlow goes beyond the services we provide. I want every person we meet ot feel genuinely cared for, comfortable, and confident that they're in good hands. My goal is to create an experience that feels personal rather than transactional, one where people feel heard, valued, and a little better than they did before they met us.
Who or what inspires you?
My parents are and always have been my biggest inspiration. My mom is the strongest woman I have ever known and taught me to never take any crap, stand up for what I believe in, and go after what I want until I get it. My dad is always my biggest cheerleader and taught me to take risks and that I can do anything a man can do, and that included riding motorcycles, racing cars, and driving big trucks! I truly wouldn't be who I am today without them and am beyond lucky to have them in my corner.
Favorite piece of advice or quote-
My favorite quote is "Be where your feet are". As someone who struggles with anxiety, this quote reminds me to stay in the present moment and not worry about the future so much. It helps keep me grounded.
What does beauty mean to you?
To me, beauty means being your most authentic self, no matter what anyone else thinks. I finally started to feel beautiful when I stopped trying to fit in the box that everyone else had drawn for me and was who I wanted to be, unapologetically.
What advice would you give your past self starting the business?
Stop doubting yourself; you are capable of anything you set your mind to.
