Hi Friends!
My name is Jamie and I live in Westerville, OH with my 13 year old daughter, Noelle, and dog, Sky.
The opportunity to start a DivaDance franchise here in Columbus came to me at the 2024 The Beauty Boost Columbus Fitness Sampler event.
Although I’m not a formally trained dancer, I’ve always had a deep love and passion for dance. To express this passion, I’ve been taking dance fitness classes for years, but I found myself craving something more. Watching my daughter thrive as a competition dancer at a local studio, I’ve seen firsthand how much joy and fulfillment dance can bring. I know there are other adults like me who want a similar experience—something less formal, infused with fun, confidence building and offering opportunities to perform and connect with the community.
Why I started:
After spending a few months exploring the DivaDance franchise, attending a class in Chicago, connecting with the amazing people behind the brand, and feeling energized by every conversation, I knew right away that this was exactly what I had been searching for. It was clear that DivaDance offered something truly unique, something Columbus didn’t yet have, and I couldn’t wait to be a part of it.
What I love about being a business owner:
I love owning a business that allows me to inspire others who share a passion for dance, help build confidence, and foster a sense of community. What means the most to me, though, is showing my daughter that with hard work and dedication, she can achieve anything she sets her mind to.
What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet and/or who purchase your products?
We provide an inclusive environment where individuals of all ages, body types, and identities are welcome where no prior dance experience is required. Our instructors create original choreography, ensuring every class is a unique and engaging experience. We are committed to delivering a “champagne quality” experience that empowers our clients to shine both on and off the dance floor while building community.
Who or what inspires you?
I’m inspired by the people and moments that surround me. Watching my daughter dance and radiate confidence reminds me of the power of pursuing your passions. Seeing successful women thrive in their careers motivates me to keep pushing forward, while conversations with fellow women business owners provide invaluable lessons and encouragement.
What is your favorite piece of advice you've ever received or favorite quote?
A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous- Coco Chanel
What does BEAUTY mean to you?
To me, beauty is all about confidence. It’s not about perfection or fitting into someone else’s mold, it’s about embracing who you are, and feeling comfortable in your own skin. When you carry yourself with confidence, it becomes powerful, and inspires others.
What advice would you give your past self just starting your business?
Be patient, put yourself out there, and the right opportunity will come!
