From Educator to Financial Pro: Caitlin’s Journey
My name is Caitlin and I live in Columbus with my sweet 10-year old pup, Bear. Outside of my work life I love running and racing with Columbus Running Company; hiking with my dog; coaching and watching sports, and generally being active and outdoors any chance I can!
In my work life, I’m a Financial Professional at Retirement Wealth Strategies, LLC, located at Easton Town Center. As the youngest member of the firm, I am passionate about helping the next generation think strategically about finances, retirement planning, and building the future they want. I enjoy helping them think about what they can do NOW to set themselves up for success.
Why I started:
As a former math teacher and public school administrator, my heart is truly for education and empowering others. I loved my career in education, but wanted to explore a new field. I love talking with clients one-on-one and speaking to groups of people about financial health and decision-making at workshops, conferences, and seminars.
What I love about being a business owner:
I’m not quite a business owner… yet! I love that word “yet”. There are SO many options for financial advice, investing, planning, etc. so what I believe makes us different is our personalized support. Every portfolio and decision is hand-picked, customized, and flexible enough to shift with your life changes.
What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet and/or who purchase your products?
I hope clients feel supported, heard, and empowered to take control of their finances and their future. The goal is to make you feel comfortable and supported with your financial future.
Who or what inspires you?
People (but especially women) who are chasing dreams, changing careers, and challenging themselves! That might be a new hobby, city, circle, or side hustle. Seeing people who are trying to create a life they love brings me joy - and I see my role as a financial professional as part of that process for every person I work with.
What is your favorite piece of advice you've ever received or favorite quote?
Keep showing up! It’s a quote from my favorite professional runner, Des Linden. So simple, but it reminds me to just keep doing the next right thing.
What does BEAUTY mean to you?
Confidence and kindness! Beauty is in how you interact with the world and the impact you leave on those around you.
What advice would you give your past self just starting your business?
Say yes! to new connections, new experiences, new challenges - you never know where these may lead. And say no! to things that are stretching your schedule too thin; distracting from your passion or purpose, and stressing you out - you have to make space for magic to happen.
