What Happens When Fashion Really Empowers Women in Cincinnati?

Today, we are meeting Amanda Logan-Athmer, Owner of the new Bobbles & Lace in OTR!

Why I started:

I opened Bobbles & Lace in Cincinnati because I saw a critical gap—our city was

missing a space where women could access high fashion without the high price tag. I believe style should be empowering, expressive, and most of all, accessible.

This boutique is more than just a shop—it's a dream built from a love of fashion and a passion for helping women feel confident in what they wear. Whether you're dressing for a big moment or just your everyday magic, Bobbles & Lace seeks to make every woman feel seen, stylish, and unstoppable. To add to that, we go beyond just selling clothes—we offer complimentary head-to-toe styling to help women create looks that feel as good as they look. Cincinnati deserves fashion that feels fresh, bold, and attainable—and I’m so proud to bring that to the heart of Over-the-Rhine.

What I love about being a business owner:
One of the things I love most about being a business owner is the opportunity to
connect—really connect—with the incredible community around me. Opening Bobbles & Lace in the heart of Over-the-Rhine wasn’t just about fashion; it was about creating a space where women feel seen, celebrated, and confident in their own style.

Every day, I get to meet amazing people, hear their stories, and help them find pieces that reflect who they are. That personal connection—that shared energy and excitement—is what fuels me. It’s not just about clothes. It’s about community, creativity, and showing up for each other. Being a part of this vibrant neighborhood and seeing how much love and support small businesses receive here has been beyond inspiring. I’m proud to call OTR home, and even prouder to serve the strong, stylish, and supportive women of Cincinnati.

What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet and/or who purchase your products?
At Bobbles & Lace, I hope that every person who walks through our doors or
shops with us leaves feeling seen, confident, and inspired. Fashion is powerful—it’s not just about what you wear, but how it makes you feel. I want our boutique to be more than a place to shop. I want it to be a space where women are uplifted, encouraged to express themselves, and reminded of their worth. Whether it’s through a perfect-fitting dress, a bold accessory, or a head-to-toe styled look, my goal is for every customer to walk away feeling like the best version of themselves. If even one woman leaves here standing a little taller or smiling a little bigger, then I know I’m creating the kind of impact that truly matters.

What is your favorite piece of advice you’ve ever received or favorite quote?
One of my favorite pieces of advice—and something I truly live by—is the belief that you can do anything you put your mind to. It’s simple, but incredibly powerful. This mindset has helped me push past self-doubt, take on challenges outside of my comfort zone, and pursue goals with confidence and determination. It reminds me that discipline, focus, and belief in yourself can take you further than talent alone ever could.

What does BEAUTY mean to you?
To me, beauty is about confidence, authenticity, and self-expression. It’s not about
fitting into one mold—it’s about feeling good in your own skin and owning your unique style. At Bobbles & Lace, we believe beauty is found in the moments when a woman lights up because she feels beautiful, strong, and empowered in what she’s wearing. Our goal is to help every woman who walks through our doors discover that version of herself—through head-to-toe styling, curated fashion, and a space that celebrates individuality. Beauty isn’t about perfection—it’s about how you feel when you step out and show the world exactly who you are.

What advice would you give your past self just starting your business?
The advice I’d give my past self is simple: just go for it. Don’t overthink every detail or wait for the “perfect” moment—because it rarely comes. Starting a business is always a leap of faith, but trusting yourself and your vision is everything. You’ll learn, grow, and adapt along the way. Believe in your passion, surround yourself with supportive people, and know that every challenge will shape you into a stronger, wiser business owner. The journey is worth it—just take the leap.
