HER STORY ⟡ Chasten Harmon

Today, we are meeting Chasten Harmon of Pure Green Fishers!

Tell us about you and your background:

I grew up in Columbus, Indiana with a passion for the arts. First drawn to dance, then singing and lastly acting cultivate a strong education and experience in the performance arts attending New York University Tisch School of the Arts for Undergraduate School and Yale School of Drama for Graduate School. I've always had a simultaneous passion for business opening my first rehearsal studio in Tribeca NY shortly after graduating college. No only do I perform I'm also a knitwear designer and an advocate for social justice and social change. I care deeply about art, health, the body and symbiotic sustainable relationships with the earth and each other.

Tell us about your business and why you started it:

I've always loved smoothies! Like ALWAYS! Ever since I could work a blender I've loved smoothies. This just happens to be the point in my story where my passion for smoothies and entrepreneurship intersect. After a health crisis in 2024 which led to 3 consecutive surgeries over the course of 1 year I decided to make the challenging decision to leave Los Angeles where I had started to build a home to be closed to home. I need to slower for communal pace and way of living and I needed something to engage in that would supplement my acting and knitting. I decided I wanted to open a franchise and was really excited when researching Pure Green. It was a brand that was aligned when it came to mission, ingredients, sustainability and taste! It felt like the perfect and the perfect opportunity to further my passion and mission for health redistribution. As someone who has navigated chronic illness my whole life I know how challenging it can be to find food you can eat in certain geographical locations. Its my goal to be a small part of the solution her in Indiana.

What do you love about being a business owner?

I love being able share my unique expressions with the community. For example us partnering with the Fishers Art Center to offer coloring sheets is just a little taste of me sharing my personal pleasures with our community. It's such a wonderful extension of me and an opportunity to give back in more ways than just through healthy food!

What advice would you give yourself from 5 years ago OR your past self just starting your business?

Block out all the outside voices and follow your heart and your intuition.

What does BEAUTY mean to you?

Beauty means alignment. It means what you feel and think on the inside aligns with how you move and express on the outside.

Who or what inspires you?

Ordinary people who keep getting up every day and facing life's endless challenges with grace, compassion and kindness.

What would you like our Beauty Boost members to know?

That what you put into your body on a regular basis matters. That food and your relationship with food can be delightful AND healthy.

Anything else you want to share?

I'm on a personal mission to educate the community about healthy eating options so they can make the best choices for their body. To counteract inflammation that is running rampant and help tame auto immune conditions that are plaguing our culture.
