HER STORY ⟡ Dr. Milca Mendez-Ceballos
Today, we are meeting Dr. Milca Mendez-Ceballos, Pawsitive Pediatric Dentistry!
Tell us about you!
I’m Dr. Milca Mendez-Ceballos, a board-certified pediatric dentist and founder of Pawsitive Pediatric Dentistry. I’m also a wife and dog mom to two doodles, Belle and Lucy. I discovered my passion for pediatric dentistry during a mission trip to Jamaica while in dental school. That experience shaped how I practice today—with clarity, patience, and a focus on helping children and families feel genuinely supported. My goal is simple: to create an experience where visits feel positive and meaningful, not just routine. Whether I’m caring for a newborn or a teen, I want each child to feel proud of themselves and each family to leave more at ease.
Tell us about your business!
At Pawsitive Pediatric Dentistry, we focus on creating a positive, personalized experience for every child. We believe great care starts with listening. No two families are the same, so we take time to understand what each child needs, whether that means extra patience, a functional assessment, or simply meeting them where they are that day. We see care as a partnership. Parents are our allies in this process, and we approach every decision with openness, clarity, and respect. When needed, we work closely with others involved in a child's care to support the whole picture, not just the immediate concern. We also believe in continuous learning. As research evolves and families' needs shift, we adapt. Our goal is to grow with purpose, always working toward better care, stronger relationships, and more confident kids.
What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet/speak to?
My goal is for families to leave each visit feeling supported, understood, and more at ease. When a child has a positive experience in a healthcare setting—especially early on—it builds trust and confidence that can grow with them. Over time, consistent and thoughtful care helps shape how families view dentistry, healthcare, and self-advocacy. If we can create that kind of foundation, we’re not just helping in the moment—we’re contributing to long-term comfort, confidence, and connection around health.
What advice would you give to yourself from 5 years ago?
Life will bring challenges you didn’t expect, but you’ve done hard things before—and you’ll do them again. Keep showing up with focus, integrity, and a steady heart. Trust your experience, trust God’s timing, and take the next step forward. You’re more prepared than you realize.
What does BEAUTY mean to you?
Beauty is showing up as your genuine self—with honesty, humility, and a willingness to grow. It’s found in people who know who they are and remain open to reflection. That kind of grounded confidence, paired with a desire to keep learning, is what I find most beautiful.
What do you love most about owning your own business?
It gives me the ability to practice in a way that reflects my values, support my team, stay present for my family, and serve my community with intention. That alignment makes the work more meaningful and sustainable.
Who or what inspires you?
I’m continually inspired by the families we serve and the team I work alongside. Their dedication, resilience, and trust in our care remind me why this work matters. Their stories bring perspective and purpose to what we do every day.
What would you like our Beauty Boost members to know?
We’re here to help—whether that means caring for your child directly or guiding you toward the right fit. Parents should feel confident and comfortable with their child’s care, and we fully support that. If we’re not the right practice for your family, we’re happy to help connect you with someone who is. Our goal is to be a trusted resource, not just a provider.
What is your favorite quote?
Simon Sinek - Working hard for something we don’t care about is called stress. Working hard for something we love is called passion.
