HER STORY ⟡ Janine of Holistic Skin Care by Janine
Today, we are meeting Janine of Holistic Skin Care by Janine!
Why I started:
Growing up I was always drawn to art and loved creating. I loved playing with makeup and creams and making potions in my mom's spice cabinet (she did not love that part haha). I excelled at fine arts and even won awards in High School. I also struggled for years trying many prescription medications and treatments to help clear my skin. I was always acne prone.
In 2005 I attended Continental school of Beauty Culture for Esthetics to combine my love for beauty, creativity and skincare. After graduating I did a 3 year apprenticeship under a Cidesco Diplomat (Highest Distinction in the world for Esthetics). This experience really helped to mold me into the Esthetician that I am. It was before social media and the only way to get busy was experience & word of mouth. In 2008, I opened my own business. I rented two small rooms within a massage business for 7 years, eventually moving into my own space in Williamsville. I knew I wanted to dive deeper into education and truly make a difference changing my clients skin. That is when I found DMK skin revision and its signature Enzyme Therapy. Being able to help people feel confident in their own skin is the most rewarding aspect of my career and it drives me every day. I am constantly looking and researching treatments and ways to expand my practice and get the best results. There are SO many different treatments, products, procedures out there for skin- I am here to guide you! This past year I have started offering painless laser hair removal. I also love jewelry and do permanent jewelry.
What does Beauty mean to me:
Beauty is dynamic. It can be an experience, it can be a feeling, or a description. It can mean so many different things but I know feeling comfortable in my own skin is a huge part of feeling beautiful to me. Feeling calm, balanced, rested & nourished, that is beautiful to me.
What impact do I hope to have:
I hope to impact people's lives by changing their skin!
