HER STORY ⟡ Jennifer Gordon

Today, we are meeting Jennifer Gordon of Taproot Chiropractic, who has advanced certifications in pediatric and prenatal chiropractic!

Hey ya’ll!

My name is Dr. Jen and I live in beautiful Temecula, California, near Old Town where I'm opening Taproot Chiropractic. After 8 years of practice experience, I'm finally bringing my vision to life - a space dedicated to supporting families from pre-conception through childhood with a holistic, neurological approach to chiropractic care.

My journey into pediatric and prenatal chiropractic wasn't what I originally planned, but it became my calling. I started noticing a pattern - so many families were struggling with their children's health challenges, from colic and reflux in infancy to ADHD, anxiety, and learning difficulties as kids grew. Parents were exhausted, feeling like they were alone in their struggles, bouncing from specialist to specialist without getting real answers. I knew there had to be a better way.

That's when I discovered the Brain Blossom Program methodology and dove deep into understanding neurological development. Everything clicked. I realized that what we call "behavioral problems" or "developmental delays" are really the nervous system communicating that something needs support. Children aren't giving us a hard time - they're having a hard time, and their bodies are asking for help in the only way they know how.

Why I started Taproot Chiropractic:

To create a space where families feel truly seen, heard, and supported. A place where parents don't have to choose between managing symptoms and addressing root causes. Where "there's nothing wrong with your child" doesn't mean dismissing a parent's concerns, but rather reframing challenges as opportunities to support optimal development. I wanted to build a practice that serves families the way I wish more practitioners served mine when I was navigating my own health journey.

What I love about being a business owner:

I get to practice chiropractic the way it was meant to be practiced - with time, intention, and a whole-family approach. I'm not rushing through appointments or putting band-aids on symptoms. I get to sit with families, really understand their stories, and create care plans that honor the unique way each child's nervous system develops. Plus, I get to build a community of families who support each other through the beautiful, messy journey of raising healthy, happy kids.

What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet and/or who become patients?

I hope every family that walks through our doors leaves feeling empowered and hopeful. I want parents to understand that their child's struggles don't define their future - that with the right support at the right time, incredible transformation is possible. I hope to create ripple effects in our community where families share what they've learned, where "early intervention" becomes as normal as well-child checkups, and where we raise a generation of children whose nervous systems are supported from day one.

Who or what inspires you?

The families I serve inspire me every single day. The mama who keeps advocating for her child when everyone else says "just wait and see." The parents who trust their instincts even when it goes against conventional advice. The kids themselves - their resilience, their joy, their incredible capacity to heal when given the right support. I'm also deeply inspired by pioneers in pediatric chiropractic like Dr. Tony Ebel and Dr. Amy Spoelstra, who've paved the way for practitioners like me to serve families differently. And honestly? The research. Every study that confirms what we see clinically - that supporting a child's nervous system changes everything - fuels my passion.

What is your favorite piece of advice you've ever received or favorite quote?

Dr. Bruce Lipton says "the body can't be in growth and protection mode at the same time," and this truth guides everything I do. Our nervous system operates in distinct states - either parasympathetic (growth, rest, repair, learning) or sympathetic (fight/flight/freeze, survival, defense). When children are stuck in survival mode due to stress or trauma, their bodies divert energy from healing, long-term thinking, growth, development, and complex learning to immediate defense. This is why so many kids struggle - they're not choosing to have meltdowns or difficulty focusing; their nervous systems are stuck in protection mode. Safety is a prerequisite for thriving, and that's what we create at Taproot.

What does BEAUTY mean to you?

Beauty is watching a child who struggled to nurse finally latch peacefully. It's seeing a mama move through pregnancy with confidence instead of fear. It's the moment a parent realizes their child isn't "bad" - their nervous system just needed support. Beauty is in the messy, real, transformative journey of healing and development. It's in the community we build when we stop pretending everything is perfect and start supporting each other through the challenges.

What advice would you give your past self just starting your business?

Trust your vision. The families who need you are out there, and they're desperately searching for what you offer. Don't water down your message to appeal to everyone - speak directly to the hearts of the families you're meant to serve. And remember: you don't need to have all the answers on day one. You just need to show up with integrity, keep learning, and truly care about the families you serve.

What would you like our Beauty Boost members to know?

That I believe in the power of women supporting women, and that extends to how we support the next generation. Whether you're pregnant, thinking about starting a family, or raising children, your intuition matters. Your concerns are valid. And there are practitioners out there (like me!) who will partner with you in supporting your child's optimal development. I'm honored to be part of this community of badass women who are changing the world - one family, one business, one brave choice at a time.

I'm also offering The Beauty Boost Community an exclusive offer: $75 New Patient Neurological Exam for TBB members (regularly $150)—includes consultation, complete nervous system scans, exam, and first adjustment. Mention you're with The Beauty Boost community when booking to redeem this offer.
