HER STORY ⟡ MaKenzie, founder of The Clean Mom Edit

Today, we are meeting MaKenzie, founder of The Clean Mom Edit!

Tell us about you and your background!

Hi! I'm MaKenzie, founder of The Clean Mom Edit. I'm a wife, mom, Human Design Practitioner, and gut health educator passionate about helping busy moms better understand the body they were designed to live in.

My journey into wellness became deeply personal after losing my dad to suicide. That experience changed the way I viewed health and inspired me to prioritize my own mental well-being while learning about the powerful connection between the gut and the brain. As I explored nutrition, Human Design, and the nervous system, I realized that true wellness isn't about chasing perfection—it's about understanding your body and learning how to support it.

Becoming a mom gave that mission even more purpose. I wanted the energy to be fully present for my family and to model a healthy, compassionate relationship with wellness for my children. Today, I combine Human Design, gut health education, and practical wellness strategies to help moms move away from one-size-fits-all advice and toward a more personalized, sustainable approach to supporting their health.

I believe your body isn't broken—it deserves to be understood. Through The Clean Mom Edit, my mission is to help moms build self-trust, support their gut health, and create simple habits that lead to more energy, confidence, and presence in everyday life.

Tell us about your business and why you started it!

The Clean Mom Edit was born from both personal loss and personal transformation. After losing my dad to suicide, I began looking at health through a completely different lens. As I navigated my own grief and prioritized my mental well-being, I became fascinated by the connection between the gut and the brain and realized that caring for our bodies is about so much more than what we eat.

That journey led me to dive deep into nutrition, Human Design, and the nervous system. Along the way, I became a mom, and everything shifted. I wanted the energy to be present with my family, the confidence to trust my body, and a sustainable approach to wellness that fit real life—not another restrictive plan.

Today, The Clean Mom Edit exists to help busy moms understand the body they were designed to live in. As a Human Design Practitioner and gut health educator, I combine Human Design with practical gut health education to help women move beyond one-size-fits-all wellness and build habits that support their unique bodies.

At the heart of everything I do is one belief: your body isn't broken—it deserves to be understood. My mission is to help moms feel less overwhelmed, more connected to their bodies, and empowered to nourish themselves with confidence and self-trust.

What do you love about being a business owner?

I love that I get to wake up every day and help women feel more confident in their bodies. Seeing a mom go from overwhelmed and second-guessing herself to feeling empowered and supported is the greatest reward. I also love the creativity of entrepreneurship and the opportunity to build genuine relationships with other women who are passionate about making a difference.

What advice would you give yourself from 5 years ago OR your past self just starting your business?

I would tell myself to learn my Human Design sooner. Understanding how I was uniquely designed changed the way I made decisions, managed my energy, and built my business. Instead of constantly comparing myself to others or trying to follow someone else's blueprint, I learned to trust the way I naturally work. Looking back, I wish I had spent less time trying to fit into someone else's version of success and more time understanding the body and life I was designed for.

What does BEAUTY mean to you?

Beauty, to me, is honoring the body God created and becoming a good steward of it. It's not about perfection or appearance—it's about confidence, self-trust, and living in alignment with who you were designed to be. Watching women understand their bodies, care for themselves with compassion, and thrive in their everyday lives is the most beautiful thing to me.

Who or what inspires you?

It's not about perfection or appearance—it's about confidence, self-trust, and living in alignment with who you were designed to be. Watching women understand their bodies, care for themselves with compassion, and thrive in their everyday lives is the most beautiful thing to me.
