HER STORY ⟡ Nadeen al-Jijakli

Today, we are meeting Nadeen al-Jijakli of Poetic Beats Yoga!

Tell us a little about yourself!
I’m Nadeen—NYC native, proud mama of four, immigration attorney, and founder of Poetic Beats Yoga. I help women—especially busy professionals, caregivers, and healers—find rest and balance through holistic practices like yoga, sound healing, and Reiki. My approach blends mindfulness, movement, and heart to make wellness feel real, doable, and deeply restorative.

What are some fun facts about you?
I’m a Zumba lover, spoken word poet, 90s hip-hop head, and native Arabic speaker. I record meditations for the Insight Timer app and love snapping photos of flowers in nature.

How did your business get started?
My love for yoga began over 17 years ago when a coworker gifted me a prenatal yoga DVD. During the pandemic, I decided to deepen my practice and pursued my 200-hour yoga teacher training—while also juggling remote learning for my kids and the demands of my law practice. I needed a way to pour back into myself, and that journey inspired me to help others do the same. Poetic Beats Yoga was born from that space of healing.

What type of impact do you hope to have?
I believe the moment you feel you don’t have time to care for yourself is exactly when you must.
My mission is to support women in building sustainable self-care practices, reconnecting with their authentic selves, and finding balance—especially in the midst of caring for others.

What is one of your favorite offerings?
One of my absolute favorite offerings is sound healing—I’m a bit obsessed! I’ve offered sound baths everywhere—from studios and spas to barns, garden centers, and private homes for ladies’ nights and anniversaries. I love introducing this practice in unexpected spaces and witnessing the wonder it brings. With 20+ instruments—some mimicking sounds from nature—and my own singing woven in, I create immersive, sensory-rich experiences. This fall, I’m launching a Sound Healing Certification to help others start their journey with sound.

Are there other ways you give back to the community?
Yes, I teach children’s yoga and partner with nonprofits to bring yoga and mindfulness to underserved schools in Cleveland. I’m especially passionate about making yoga accessible to caregivers of families with special needs, as I believe everyone deserves the benefits of these practices.

What is your favorite quote?
“Do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one to come?” — Rumi
This quote has grounded me during difficult times. I’ve returned to it again and again, and it never fails to bring comfort and clarity.

What advice would you give your past self?
Don’t wait to prioritize yourself. For years, I poured everything into my work and family, leaving little room for rest. Even in the presence of joy and purpose, I often felt drained. Over time, I learned to slow down, restructure what was depleting me, and care for myself through holistic practices. I now help other women do the same—especially those deep in caregiving—so they can breathe, restore, and reclaim space for their own well-being.

What would you like The Beauty Boost community to know about you?
Meditation and slowing down didn’t come easy to me—it took practice and patience. Because of that journey, I can relate deeply to where you might be—and that’s why I’m able to provide practical, heart-centered support.

Do you have a special offer for The Beauty Boost community?
Yes! Enjoy 20% off a private Reiki or Sound Healing session. Just mention code: BOOST when booking.
