HER STORY ⟡ Dr. Kenzie Hoar
Today, we are meeting Dr. Kenzie Hoar of Garden City Chiropractic.
Tell us about you and your background!
Are we a hubby/wife chiro duo? YES!! We love it. Many people ask if we met at chiro school, but we actually met in high school. We both loved the healthcare field. Nick knew he wanted to be a chiropractor since he was young, as his family received regular care (lucky!!). I, however, did not. I was going for PT in college until I attended an internship where I realized it just wasn’t for me. Nick introduced me to chiropractic where I realized the passion behind this profession: knowing that the body has the ability to heal itself. A career rooted in empowering and speaking life into people? Sign me up! So, we were off to obtain our doctorate together in Atlanta, Georgia.
We finished the program together and knew we were meant to open our own practice. After much prayer and mentorship, we landed here in Cincinnati, and it’s been so evident we’re where we’re supposed to be ever since. We absolutely love taking care of families & individuals in our office every day. We get to see miracles happen!
Tell us about your business and why you started it!
We started Garden City Chiropractic knowing that our healthcare system is broken. There are more questions than answers, more doubt & fear, more chronic disease than ever before.
It’s our mission to be a light for our community. To remind them how powerful they are, to reinstill belief in their journey, to tell them they’re not alone and most of all, there’s HOPE!!
We’re so blessed to be a part of many people’s health journeys and to provide the care that we do to restore function!
What do you love about being a business owner?
We love the flexibility it allows our family of four. We have an adventurous, curious and loving 3-year-old and peaceful, sweet and chubby 4-month-old. We want to help families get healthier and we want that to come from a place of being a healthy family ourselves.
I personally love being able to use my life’s experiences to relate to others whether they’re moms or young women, parents or grandparents. From menstrual cycle disruption, questiongive to the medical system, wondering what’s okay to give our kids, to infertility and miscarriage. Each experience serves a purpose. I get to be across from that person saying “I’ve been there. I know what it’s like. We’re here to help.” And that’s one of life’s highest honors.
What advice would you give yourself from 5 years ago OR your past self just starting your business?
Not everyone will agree with me, and they’re not meant to. Not everyone will like me and that’s okay. My job is to share truth, to walk alongside people, to stand in the gap for them and to clear their nervous systems through the chiropractic adjustment so they can have the best chance for true health. God has called me to this profession, and He’ll carry me through it. It’s not always easy but it’s ALWAYS worth it!!
What does BEAUTY mean to you?
Beauty is an inner knowing of our worth. It’s knowing we have purpose, it’s knowing we’ve been intentionally created. Beauty is living from a place of wellness, a place of intention. It’s cheering others on when they’re winning and walking through valleys when they’re struggling. Beauty is individual and beauty is collective.
Who or what inspires you?
The Lord inspires me to be loving, graceful, forgiving and determined. He is why we get to do what we do. I’m also inspired by my kids, to always be a voice in the healthcare field. My husband inspires me to continue growing in knowledge and the pursuit of health freedom!
