HER STORY ⟡ Janelle Marra
Today, we are meeting Janelle Marra of Soulsway and Siwa Murti!
Hi! My name is Janelle Marra. I am an embodiment teacher and energy practitioner dedicated to helping individuals reclaim their vitality and restore comfort in their bodies. As the co-founder of Soulsway Practice, I blend somatic science, music, mindfulness, and meditation into transformative movement classes. I’m also among the first Siwa Murti practitioners in the United States, and a designated lead trainer in this powerful Balinese energy healing modality.
Why I started?
My work has always been about connection - connection to ourselves, to each other, and to something greater. I spent over a decade as an actor, striving to embody experiences and emotions that would reflect our shared humanity. During that time I stepped into women’s empowerment and embodiment work, helping women feel at home in their bodies and witnessing their (and my own!) profound transformation. My 10 years as a birth doula further taught me the power of holding space during life’s most pivotal and powerful moments. In the past 5 years, as an energy healing practitioner and teacher, I’ve expanded my commitment to helping people heal on every level — physical, emotional and spiritual.
What type of impact do I hope to have on those I meet?
I hope to help people feel more embodied, empowered, healthy, vibrant. Whether it be through embodiment/movement/somatics or thought direct healing for physical pain and injury, I hope to help people feel great in their bodies!
Who or What inspires me?
Experiences that bring me into a state of AWE. Being in uplifting and soul-expanding spaces.
What is your favorite piece of advice or quote?

What does beauty mean to you?
When I see your beauty I can see my own. And vice-versa.
What advice would you give your past self just starting your business?
Nothing needs to perfect.
