HER STORY ⟡ Maggie and Rebecca of Rooted & Restored Counseling

Hi! We are Maggie and Rebecca, owners of Rooted & Restored Counseling. We opened Rooted & Restored Counseling in 2020. We are humbled by the rapid growth of our practice and team, as it has allowed us to reach more people than we could have imagined.

Why you started this business:

We opened Rooted & Restored in order to provide a safe, non-judgemental space to our community and team; one that honors all parts of an individual, whether a client or clinician; where they can show up as they are. The four values we try to uphold in our daily practice are Accessibility, Transparency, Flexibility, and Connectedness.

What you both love about being a business owner:

Being a business owner is an overwhelmingly; sometimes chaotic, and humbling experience. Not only do we have the honor of providing quality care to our community in some of their darkest, heaviest moments; but we simultaneously get to provide a supportive, inclusive, and connected work environment to our team. That is a privilege that is not lost on us.

What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet and/or potential clients?

Our hope for our clients, community, and team is that they feel seen, heard, and valued. That even if their circumstances or stressors do not change, they feel lighter and better equipped to navigate life's challenges as a result of therapeutic support. While therapy is for everyone, we hope each individual who encounters Rooted & Restored is provided an experience unique to them and knows they are more than the struggles they face.

Who or what inspires you?

Our inspiration comes from all of you -  working to be the best version of yourself.

What is your favorite piece of advice you've ever received or favorite quote?

You do not have to hold everything yourself.

What does beauty mean to you?

We believe beauty is subjective. To us, beauty is feeling comfortable with who we are and working towards the version of ourselves we want to be. Beauty is showing up for people and feeling uplifted by those in our lives. Beauty is tending to our physical, emotional, and mental health needs.

What advice would you give to your past selves just starting your business?

Determine what matters to you and what values you want to drive your decisions. In moments of stress or when you’re feeling overwhelmed, remember your why.

What would you like our Beauty Boost members to know?

We are here for you and with you. You have a place here. In this world, in this community, and in this practice.
