HER STORY ⟡ Mimi Vrable
Today, we are meeting Mimi Vrable, owner of European Wax Center Asheville!
Why I started:
I’m Mimi, the independent owner of European Wax Center Asheville!I’m originally from Wilmington, Delaware, but moved to Winston-Salem to attend Wake Forest University. After graduating, I lived in both NYC and South Florida, building a career in sales along the way. When I became a mom to two daughters, I was fortunate to stay home with them full-time for a few years. But about 11 years ago, with my daughters still young, I was ready for a fresh start in a new place — and to re-enter the workforce with a new sense of purpose. That's when I decided to make the move to Asheville, drawn by the people, culture, and mountain air — plus the desire to raise my daughters in a community I loved. As I planned the move, I realized that one of the things I had in South Florida that I wouldn't have in my new city was a great body waxing studio. Wondering what I’d do without this in Asheville, a lightbulb went off that I could kill two birds with one stone. Opening a European Wax Center would give me both a new career and a solution to my own waxing needs. It would also offer the flexibility to bring my daughters to work! After polling locals and confirming there was a demand, I took the leap — and the rest is history!I value family, community, and empowering other women! When I’m not working, I like to spend my time hanging out with my family and friends, at the gym, traveling and supporting local businesses.
What I love about being a business owner:
I'm grateful that I get to work with a team of outstanding women and be a part of their growth journey. I also appreciate the flexibility it affords me.
What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet and/or who purchase your products?
Our goal is to give every guest an exceptional experience from start to finish and to educate them on the importance of skincare. We carry our own product line to help guests maintain their skin between visits.Who or what inspires you? My two daughters, India (17) and Hartley (14). I want to model for them that independent women are capable of anything!
What is your favorite piece of advice you've ever received or favorite quote?
I love Maya Angelou's quote, "People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel."
What does BEAUTY mean to you?
It's the way we perceive ourself and the confidence it brings when we discover our inner beauty.
What advice would you give your past self just starting your business?
We are celebrating our 10-year anniversary this year and we are proud to have been part of the local Asheville community for the past decade. A lesson I have learned is that one person cannot do it all! Put the right people in the right positions and leverage everyone's strengths.
What would you like our Beauty Boost members to know?
We take pride in our positive and inclusive culture at EWC Asheville and are always looking for new Associates who are interested in joining our stellar team!
