HER STORY ⟡ Nicole Rodriguez
Today, we are meeting Nicole Rodriguez, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, Founder of Rimi Med & Aesthetics!
For Nicole Rodriguez, healthcare has never simply been about treating a diagnosis—it has always been about helping people feel like themselves again.
Nicole began her healthcare career in 2006 and became a registered nurse in 2012. Over the years, her passion for medicine continued to grow, eventually leading her to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. Through years of caring for patients in different healthcare settings, she began to recognize something that would ultimately shape the vision for her own practice: patients wanted more than rushed appointments and one-size-fits-all medicine.
They wanted to be heard.
They wanted someone to look at the whole picture.
And they wanted healthcare that helped them not only feel better, but feel confident, healthy, and comfortable in their own skin.
That vision became Rimi Med & Aesthetics.
Nicole founded Rimi to create a different kind of healthcare experience—one that brings together medicine, wellness, hormone optimization, weight management, sexual health, aesthetics, and preventative care in a personalized, relationship-driven environment.
“I wanted to create the type of practice where patients never feel like a number,” Nicole says. “I wanted people to have a provider who actually knows them, listens to what they are experiencing, and works with them to develop a plan that fits their life and their goals.”
At Rimi, medical wellness and aesthetics are not viewed as two separate worlds. Nicole believes looking good and feeling good often go hand in hand. Whether a patient is struggling with fatigue, hormonal changes, weight, confidence, sexual wellness, skin concerns, or simply wants to age in a way that still feels like them, the goal is the same: helping each person become the healthiest and most confident version of themselves.
Where Did the Name “Rimi” Come From?
For Nicole, even the name of the practice is personal.
Rimi was named after her two daughters, Riley and Mia.
The name combines pieces of their names—“Ri” from Riley and “Mi” from Mia—creating Rimi.
“When I decided to open my own practice, I knew I wanted the name to mean something,” Nicole explains. “My daughters are such a huge part of who I am and why I work as hard as I do. Naming the practice after Riley and Mia made it feel like more than a business. It became something connected to my family and something I could build for the future.”
That personal connection reflects the philosophy behind the practice itself.
Rimi was built intentionally to feel different from a traditional medical office. Nicole wanted patients to feel comfortable asking questions they may have been hesitant to discuss elsewhere—from hormones and intimacy to weight, aging, skin changes, confidence, and overall wellness.
Her approach combines evidence-based medicine with individualized care and a willingness to have the conversations that sometimes get overlooked in conventional healthcare.
Building Something Different
Becoming a business owner meant stepping into an entirely new role.
Nicole was no longer only a provider—she became the person responsible for developing the treatments, creating the patient experience, building systems, learning the business side of medicine, continuing her education, and constantly asking, How can we make this better for our patients?
Opening Rimi Med & Aesthetics has allowed her to bring together the areas of medicine she is most passionate about under one roof.
Today, Rimi offers personalized care in areas including hormone replacement therapy, medical weight management, sexual wellness, aesthetics, regenerative treatments, IV therapy, hair restoration, and general medical care.
But Nicole says the service itself is only part of what matters.
“The most rewarding part is when someone comes back and tells me, ‘I finally feel like myself again.’ Whether that happens because we corrected their hormones, helped them lose weight, improved something that was affecting their confidence, or simply listened when they felt like nobody else was listening—that is why I do this.”
More Than Aesthetics
Nicole is passionate about changing the perception that wellness and aesthetics are simply about vanity.
For many patients, seemingly cosmetic concerns are deeply connected to confidence, relationships, emotional well-being, and quality of life. Likewise, issues such as hormone changes, sexual dysfunction, weight gain, fatigue, hair loss, and skin changes can significantly affect how someone sees themselves.
At Rimi, patients are encouraged to talk openly about those concerns.
“I think women especially spend so much of their lives taking care of everybody else,” Nicole says. “There comes a point where many of us realize that taking care of ourselves matters too. Wanting to have energy, feel attractive, feel strong, or feel confident isn't selfish. Those things are part of wellness.”
It is that philosophy that continues to guide Rimi as it grows.
What’s Next for Rimi?
Nicole's vision for Rimi extends far beyond simply expanding a menu of services.
Her goal is to continue building a modern medical and wellness practice where patients can develop long-term relationships with their provider, have meaningful conversations about their health, and access treatments that support both longevity and quality of life.
She also hopes her daughters will look back one day and recognize that the business carrying their names represents something bigger.
“I want Riley and Mia to see that you can build something from an idea, take a risk on yourself, work incredibly hard, and create something you're proud of,” Nicole says. “Rimi may have started with their names, but it has grown into a community of patients who trust us with some of the most personal parts of their health and confidence. I don't take that responsibility lightly.”
For Nicole, Rimi Med & Aesthetics is more than a practice.
It is the culmination of nearly two decades in healthcare, a passion for helping people feel better inside and out, a leap into entrepreneurship, and a business whose very name is rooted in the two people who inspire her most.
Riley + Mia = Rimi.
And the story is only getting started.
