Why I started:
I started Simply Social with Toria because I saw how many incredible small businesses, especially in the beauty and wellness space, were struggling to communicate just how amazing their businesses truly were online. With my background in the beauty industry and operations, I knew there was an opportunity to combine my love for marketing, content, and storytelling to help business owners become more visible, confident, and intentional with their brands.
What I love about being a business owner:
I love the freedom to create something that is truly mine and the ability to bring my own ideas to life. But more than anything, I love the relationships. Getting to work alongside other passionate business owners, watching their businesses grow, and knowing that I played a small part in that growth is incredibly rewarding.
What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet and/or who purchase your products?
I want people to leave an interaction with me feeling more confident in their brand and more confident in themselves as business owners. I want my clients to feel seen, supported, and empowered to take up space. My goal is never just to create pretty content. I want to help businesses tell their story, connect with their ideal clients, and ultimately grow.
Who or what inspires you?
I am inspired by women who aren’t afraid to bet on themselves. I love seeing someone take an idea they had in their head and turn it into something real. I am also incredibly inspired by the small business community. There are so many talented, hardworking women building businesses from the ground up, and being surrounded by that energy constantly pushes me to dream bigger.
What is your favorite piece of advice you’ve ever received or favorite quote?
“You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” Starting a business can feel overwhelming because you want to have everything figured out before you begin. I’ve learned that you rarely do. Sometimes you just have to take the next step, learn along the way, and trust yourself enough to keep going.
What does BEAUTY mean to you?
Beauty, to me, is confidence, authenticity, and the way you make someone feel. It’s so much bigger than physical appearance. Beauty is being able to walk into a room and feel comfortable being exactly who you are. It’s also about recognizing the beauty in your journey, your growth, your story, and the things that make you different.
What advice would you give your past self just starting your business?
Stop waiting until you feel ready. You are going to learn so much by actually doing the work. Don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle. Don’t be afraid to evolve, change your mind, raise your prices, say no, or try something new. Your business is allowed to grow and change as you do. Most importantly, trust that you don’t need to have everything figured out to build something incredible.
What would you like our Beauty Boost members to know?
I would love for Beauty Boost members to know that they don’t have to do everything alone. There is so much power in community, collaboration, and supporting other women in business. And as a fellow business owner, I know how easy it is to get caught up in the day-to-day of running your business and forget to actually market the incredible work you’re doing. You deserve to be seen.
