Sweat, Strength & Sisterhood: Body Alive in Columbus!
Hi Beauty Boost Community!
My name is Elley and I recently moved back to Ohio with my husband after several years in Denver and LA and we could not be more excited to be home!
I have always been extremely passionate about health and exercise - I even got my NASM (National Council on Strength & Fitness) personal training certification during the pandemic to learn more about how the body works and maximizing its functionality. Even though I knew this was my calling, I did not have the courage to pivot from working in business to working in the fitness industry until a life altering spine injury completely changed my perspective. I became a huge Pilates believer and not only found incredible workouts at Body Alive, but also found purpose. I loved being there and felt a sense of belonging within the community.
Why I started:
I started to help regain strength and stayed for the community. I cannot wait to bring Body Alive to Columbus!
What I love about being a business owner:
I love being able to hire amazing people who embody everything I love about Body Alive, who inspire me, and who will help grow our community.
What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet and/or who purchase your products?
I hope our clients’ leave Body Alive feeling a sense of empowerment and belonging. Along with a great sweat!
Who or what inspires you?
My mom inspires me everyday. She rose to be President of a Company in the largely male dominated CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) Industry. I was able to watch her work during COVID and she led her team with so much grace and compassion; it’s something I hope to emulate with my team.
What is your favorite piece of advice you've ever received or favorite quote? Strong women raise strong women.
What does BEAUTY mean to you?
Beauty is so individual; for me, I feel most beautiful when I’m taking care of myself - plenty of rest, exercising and eating right.
What advice would you give your past self just starting your business?
It’s will be harder than you think - but it’s worth it!
