8 Things to Do This Month That Will Make Your Life Better by September!
Hey there! Happy Monday!
Before August flies by, we're challenging you to do 8 things that will actually make your life better by September.
Nothing crazy. Just a few smart moves that Future You will be very glad you made.
Here are 8 worth doing this month:
Ask ChatGPT to audit one part of your life. Paste in your monthly spending, weekly schedule, grocery list, resume, workout routine, or skincare products and ask: “What am I missing, wasting money on, or making harder than it needs to be?”
Increase one automatic investment by 1%. If you have a 401(k), IRA or automatic investment account, log in and bump the contribution. Small enough that you may barely notice it; meaningful when you leave it there for years. If you don't have a financial advisor, email us and we'll help connect you to one!
Make your phone work FOR you. Spend 15 minutes deleting your biggest distraction apps, turning off unnecessary notifications and moving anything you mindlessly open off your home screen.
Ask for one thing you normally wouldn't ask for. A raise. A better rate. A late fee waived. A hotel upgrade. A discount. A deadline extension. A better table. An introduction. Make August the month you test how often the answer is actually yes.
Make a “things I refuse to spend my time doing” list. Pick 3–5 things you're done wasting time on and find the workaround: grocery delivery, autopay, a cleaner once a month, unsubscribing instead of deleting 40 emails, recurring prescriptions, whatever buys your time back.
Put $250 toward something Future You wants. Not your emergency fund. Start a separate bucket for something exciting: Italy, a new couch, a certification, Christmas, a girls' trip, your dream bag. Name the account after the actual thing you're saving for.
Use one PTO day before summer is officially over—with absolutely no productivity agenda. Take a random Friday. Go to the pool. Drive somewhere new. Get lunch with a friend. Read outside. Summer doesn't have to end just because August got busy.
Create a “things I want to do” list—and book one. Keep a running note in your phone of restaurants you want to try, weekend trips, classes, concerts, experiences and random things that sound fun. Then pick ONE and put an actual date on the calendar this month.
