What made you want to start your business?
After spending over a decade in the nanny world, we saw a clear need for something deeper. Families and nannies need more than just a match; they need a real support system. We started The Heart State Nanny Agency to create a space where both sides feel seen, heard, and valued, with a strong focus on building lasting partnerships and a true sense of community.
We’re passionate about raising the standard of in-home care while keeping the warmth and heart that makes this work so special. A big part of that means helping people normalize having a nanny; understand what quality childcare looks like, and feel empowered to build their own village.
We also bring some fun and pride into the industry. Nannies love having merch that reflects who they are and the work they love, so we’ve created pieces that let them feel celebrated and confident in their role. Whether it’s through thoughtful placements, flexible services like Custom Connections, or just creating space for real conversations, we’re here to do things differently and with heart.
What we love about being business owners:
We love that we get to build something from the ground up that’s rooted in our shared values, connection, care, and community. We have the freedom to dream big and create something that actually makes a difference in people’s lives.
Our agency is run by nannies, for nannies and for families. That lived experience gives us a real-world perspective on what truly matters in childcare. We also make it a point to uplift other small businesses and collaborate with our community as we grow.
For us, it’s not just about placing nannies; it’s about shifting the way people see in-home care, and building something that reflects the heart behind it all.
What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet and/or who purchase your products?
Whether someone hires a nanny through our agency or wears one of our merch pieces, we want them to feel supported, seen, and celebrated. We’re here to uplift caregivers and help families feel confident and connected. Our goal is to create a space where nannies feel proud of the work they do; families feel empowered in their parenting journey, and everyone knows they’re part of a larger village.
Who or what inspires you?
We’re inspired by the nannies and families we’ve worked with over the years; the childcare community as a whole, and by women-led businesses that are reshaping what it means to lead with purpose. Seeing others build from a place of authenticity and love motivates us.
What does BEAUTY mean to you?
To us, beauty is found in authenticity, connection, and showing up for others. It’s in the way someone cares for a child with intention, in the quiet confidence of a nanny doing what they love, and in the strength it takes to create something meaningful. Beauty isn’t just how something looks, it’s how it feels, and the way it makes others feel.
