HER STORY ⟡ Marchella Leone-Laskin, The Brokerage Pilates
Hi, I’m Marchella, founder of The Brokerage Pilates, a small-group reformer and mat studio in Nashville’s Marathon Village.
We opened March 27, 2026, in a historic building full of exposed brick and wood beams, with about eight clients per class so everyone gets real attention.
How did you get started?
The idea started with one question: what if we treated our health the way we treat our wealth? Good investments take time, consistency, and the right guidance, and so does strength. My background is in marketing and brand management at PetSmart and Mars Petcare, alongside years of teaching Pilates. When I moved to Nashville in August 2024, Pilates classes were the first place I looked for community, and I didn’t find it. So I built it.
What do you love most about being a business owner? Creating the experience I always wanted as a client. I love watching someone come in for their first class and, a few months later, knowing everyone in the room. I also love the creative side: new class formats, events, and partnering with other local businesses.
What’s been the biggest challenge?
Nashville gets a lot of visitors, so many people take one class while they’re in town. The work is turning that first visit into a routine for locals, and every week teaches me more about what makes people stay.
What impact do you hope to have?
I want people to leave stronger, physically and mentally, and more confident than when they walked in. Honestly, one of the things I first loved about Pilates was that you get to lie down for most of it. But what keeps me coming back is how it shows up in everyday life. It sounds silly, but it makes carrying your groceries easier.
What message do you have for The Beauty Boost community?
Invest in yourself like it’s your best long-term asset, because it is. Strength compounds over time, and it’s so much easier to build with people moving alongside you.
