Hey everyone! I’m Paul. I’m based here in Houston, and if I’m not diving into a spreadsheet to help a business owner find some peace of mind, you’ll usually find me chasing my family around or hitting the gym—fitness has always been my non-negotiable for staying sane.
To be honest, Roch Accounting Services didn’t start because I had some lifelong dream of owning an accounting firm. It actually started out of a bit of frustration. I kept meeting these incredibly smart, hardworking people who were absolute rockstars at what they did—but they felt totally blind and overwhelmed the second they looked at their numbers. I’ve spent years in leadership roles helping people who definitely weren't "math people" understand budgets and make big decisions. I saw the same thing over and over: it’s not that people aren't capable; it’s just that no one has ever explained their finances in a way that actually makes sense.
Why I started:
I saw too many owners doing everything "right" on the outside—full schedules, growing teams, great revenue—while internally they were losing sleep over payroll and second-guessing every dime they spent. I wanted to change that. Not by making things more "corporate" or complex, but by simplifying them so they could actually breathe again.
What I love about being a business owner:
There is nothing like that "lightbulb moment" when the fog lifts for a client. Watching someone go from "I’m drowning in data" to "Okay, I’ve got this" is the best part of the job. I love that I get to build something that helps people live better lives, not just run "efficient" businesses.
The impact I hope to have:
I want the people I work with to feel like they’re back in the driver’s seat. No more guessing. No more "ostrich-head-in-the-sand" when it comes to the bank account. I want them to know exactly where they stand so they can actually enjoy the business they worked so hard to build.
Who or what inspires you?
I’m inspired by the "marrow" of the business world—the studio owners teaching the 6:00 AM classes, managing a team, and then trying to figure out their taxes in the car. That kind of grit and heart is infectious, and it’s exactly who I want to show up for every day.
A favorite piece of advice:
"Clarity creates calm." It’s simple, but it’s true. When you actually understand the "why" behind the numbers, the stress just evaporates. What does success mean to you? Success is having a business that supports your life—not one that swallows it whole.
What advice would you give your past self?
Start sooner! You don’t need to have every single "i" dotted and "t" crossed to begin. You just have to take that first step and figure the rest out as you go.
What would you like people to know?
Hating math isn't a permanent condition! You don't have to feel overwhelmed by your numbers forever. With the right systems and someone in your corner who speaks your language, it can actually feel… dare I say… easy?
